(San Lin Tun (The Musicos))
1. ABOUT THE MUSICOS MUSIC BAND
He started playing guitar in his middle school days with his classmates namely Myo Min Latt and Nyan Lin Tun who are the alumni of BEHS No 1 Dagon. Weekends saw them playing at Myo's house at Yay Khel Sai Bus stop whose neighbor was famous Myanmar actor Bo Ba Ko. He started learning the rudimentary of guitar playing from Ko Myo Sint at Taung Lone Pyan ward in Pazuntaung Township where a group of music lovers lived and they also rented musical instruments to people who wanted to hold concerts at their places.
In 1990, he studied music under famous Bassist Ko Zalyan, Lead Guitarist Ko Myo Tun, Music instructor Ko Aung Ko Ko successively. Then, he switched his interest to literature and started writing in English in 2007. But in 2021, his old hobby returned to him and he tried to compose a few songs and instrumentals. In the early months of 2023, he founded a band named Musicos for his music career. His first song is called လွမ်းနေသောငါ and it was recorded and played by Ko Cho Gyi of August Six band and studio in Yay Kyaw Township. He uploaded the M V at the page of Music Net and his own YouTube page titled Lyricist San Lin Tun His first instrumental album is called Acoustic Recital that includes ten instrumentals. It will be available soon in Feb, 2024.
San Lin Tun (lyricist/guitar instrumentalist)
San Lin Tun was born in Yangon, Myanmar. He began playing guitar during his middle school years alongside classmates Myo Min Latt and Nyan Lin Tun, alumni of BEHS No 1 Dagon. On weekends, they would gather at Myo's house near Yay Khel Sai Bus stop, next to the home of renowned Myanmar actor Bo Ba Ko.
His initial guitar lessons were with Ko Myo Sint in Taung Lone Pyan ward, Pazuntaung Township, a hub for music aficionados who also provided musical instruments for local concerts.
In 1990, he pursued music studies with celebrated Bassist Ko Zalyan, Lead Guitarist Ko Myo Tun, and Music instructor Ko Aung Ko Ko. Later, he shifted his focus to literature and began writing in English in 2007. However, in 2021, he revisited his musical roots, composing songs and instrumentals. By early 2023, he established a band called Musicos, marking a new phase in his musical journey. His debut song, လွမ်းနေသောငါ (Lwan Nay Tho Ngar), was recorded with Ko Cho Gyi of the August Six band and studio in Yay Kyaw Township. He shared the music video on Music Net and his YouTube channel, Lyricist San Lin Tun.
His inaugural instrumental album, "Acoustic Recital," featuring ten pieces, was released in March 2024.

The Musician’s Statement
San Lin Tun (The Musicos) is a lyricist, writer and acoustic guitarist. He has published about fifteen English books.
In March 2024, his debut album "Acoustic Recital" was released. He is planning to release his mini album "Ma Shi Ma Phit (Essential)" soon.
His music genre is ambient music and he plays combination of Jazz, Blues and Spanish elements.
He experiments, plays, and composes the relationship between music and life, the aesthetics of music, the expressive dynamics of music to describe a kind of fusion music through acoustic guitars for playing and performing.

You need to be cheerful and pleasant. So your morning has to have it's Glory.
It's about it and you can hear it in the song
-Nostalgia is something you feels when you reflects your past, whether near or
far. Those images and memories will surely come back to you. It depicts this
sensation.
-You will feel how frolick a lark shows in this song. It's a rather beautiful
piece, you will feel Harken!
-I think almost everyone likes jazz. Jazzy tunes sometimes makes you feel
sophisticated. But these tunes will tell you how funny or irregular in their
patterns These are pranks on Jazz, nothing else..
-Spanish songs fascinate me since I was in my teenage days. Santana' s Black
Magic Woman is the best way to describe it. It stays with me since then. I
create these two Spanish tunes,, out of my fascination to Latin Music and it's
musicians.
-Sometimes, we are in a dreamy state when we dream something. It's hard to
describe that moment. It's about it
-When you experience things that deviate from your expectation, you feel bad
and you want to express that in a musical way. It is about that.
-Felicity is what we need in our life. This tune will bring you more fun if you
listen to it
This album is about LPH (love, peace and happiness), that is love, peace and
happiness , nothing more. Please listen and enjoy.

A REVIEW ON A MUSICAL SOIREE AT PADHĀNA ART SPACE
A musical soiree held by San Lin Tun (The Musicos) happened at Padhāna Art Space on 18th January, 2015 from 4 pm to 5 pm. It was a pleasant event to which several people came to listen to the songs and instrumentals by the musician.

San Lin Tun (The Musicos) is a
lyricist, editor, poet, writer and has published over a dozen English books
including poetry, short story, essays, novels, etc and released two music
albums, namely “Acoustic Recital” and “Ma Shi Ma Phit”. He founded the band
“The Musicos” in 2013. His successful debut performance was held at Mojo House
in 2024 in Yangon.
As soon as the soiree began, the musician began to play his instrumental titled Morning Glory from his debut album “Acoustic Recital”. And he played Spanish Expressions I and II, Into a Dream, A Heart in Flame, Felicity, Sensational E-minor I and II, A Prank on Jazz I and II, etc.

In the meantime, he sang his song titled “A Sway Lu Mite” from his album “Ma Shi Ma Phit” playing his classical guitar. He hummed gently to the suitability of the lyrics and tunes. The audience seemed to drift with his vocals and tunes. He also sung his other song titled “To Our Best Day” and the lyrics are in English and he sung well, demonstrating his fusion of fingerstyle picking and strumming.

An instrumental titled Harsh E-minor brought much lively to the event because he sensed that he needed to give some vigor to his audience. He played sixteen pieces including instrumentals and songs at the soiree to the delight of the audience.
Moreover, Padhāna art space is a well-renovated one that holds art exhibitions, musical gatherings and other art activities since its opening. Its location is No. 203, 3rd floor, Seikkanthar Street (Middle Block). Actually, it is a nice venue for holding such kinds of events, decorating well for the art exhibitions.
